Day Nine

Yes, it's Monday, but don't be sad. There's something good here, that we can only have today. Wonder what that is? It's Monday skies, of course!

Marisa was up in time to take such a delicate picture, that reminded me of this quote:

"The sky is where time and magic become one."
[Khalid Masood]

Marisa - Roverbella, Mantua, Italy - 6.30 am

After my son left for school, I ventured a look out the window: it was dark, and cloudy, and there was a drizzle.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 7.30 am
Celenia had a very busy day ahead, but didn't forget to look at the sky!

Celenia - Empoli, Florence, Italy - 8.37 am
Fake-Spring is still on somewhere, as Aldo points out.

Aldo - Lambrugo, Como, Italy - 9.00 am
I had to go out at about 10.00. It wasn't raining, but it was grey and windy. I nonetheless decided to challenge the gods and get on my bike.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 10.00 am

How did it go? Well, let's say I should buy some rain pants, but a drift boat wasn't necessary. That was how the sky looked, when I reached my destination:

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 10.20 am
After a good talk with my personal trainer at the gym (who let me know that my bones have just the perfect weight, if you must know), I stepped out in the wind.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 12.00 pm
Monica, too, noticed that the sky in Berlin was very animated, today.

Irene was busy reflecting on her life, and just happened to notice that the cloudy sky seen from her balcony offered a glimpse of light. 'It must be a sign!' she thought to herself, and took a picture to eternalize the moment.

Irene - Viareggio, Lucca, Italy - 3.50 pm
I realized that the tube of toothpaste was empty, so I challenged the gods once more and went to the supermarket. Fortuna favet fortibus, as they say. That is: fortune favours the bold. I was bold and I was fortunate.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 4.00 pm
Benedetta saw the sky turn pink and red in Graz.

Benedetta - Graz, Austria - 4.40 pm
Elena just sent in this picture, to show that her sky, too, was pinkish!

Elena - Solaro, Milan, Italy - 5.10 pm
The sky turned pink for Chiara, too:

Chiara - Mezzano Superiore, Parma, Italy - 5.15 pm

And who better than Marisa could close this Monday of skies?

Marisa - Roverbella, Mantua, Italy - 7.20 pm
See you all tomorrow for a great Day Ten!

Day Six

We were all looking forward to starting our Friday, as it seems! The moxt anxious was Aldo, who was up to photograph a beautiful dawn:

Aldo - Lambrugo, Como, Italy - 7.30 am

Marisa was out and about soon later.

Marisa - Riverbella, Mantua, Italy - 7.50 am

Irene walked out onto the balcony to check the weather: yesterday night there was fog all around, but today the sky had cleared up.

Irene - Viareggio, Lucca, Italy - 8.05 am

Not everywhere, though. This was the view from my window:

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 8.30 pm

Celenia photographed a glimpse of the sky from Empoli's old town center.

Celenia - Empoli, Firenze, Italy - 9.02 am

I had promised my friend Cristina that we could practice our English a bit together today, so I left home to go to her place. Here's the sky from my garden:

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 9.40 am

While I was underground, Gabriella decided to take pictures of the sky. She must have known I couldn't, that's no coincidence.

Gabriella - Sanremo, Imperia, Italy - 10.00 am

And that's how the sky looked like when I got out from the underground station:

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 10.30

Emanuela took a stunning picture at lunch-time.

Emanuela - Cesenatico, Forlì-Cesena, Italy - 1.15 pm

She sends a quote from the Italian poet Donato Di Poce: "Me ne vado con il cielo in tasca all'insaputa dei poeti."

I walk around with the sky in my pocket
unbeknownst to the poets.

Benedetta says today was a really warm day, not typical November at all.

Benedetta - Trieste, Italy - 1.45 pm

I was on my way back home, staring at the red light, and decided to take a look at the sky, just in case.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 3.00 pm

And I finally got home - I had a bad headache, but I had at least bought the cutest toilet paper, with coloured owls, snow-flakes and stars printed on it.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 3.30 pm
Emanuela thought she'd take a picture of the sky at Cervia.

Emanuela - Cervia, Ravenna, Italy - 4.00 pm
And Enrica found the sky inside a lake.

Enrica - Asiago, Vicenza, Italy - 4.00 pm

Gaia's last day of holiday has come.

Gaia - Camporosso in Valcanale, Udine, Italy - 4.40 pm
Gaia - Along the motorway, Resiutta, Udine, Italy - 5.15 pm

Now it's time to go to bed, get some rest and prepare ourselves to see more wonderful skies tomorrow! Good night, sleep tight!

Oh, and leave a comment if you wish!

Day Five

The sun is but a morning star.
[Henry David Thoreau]

Today there were no early birds!

Correction!! I just got  a picture from Aldo, who was up at dawn!

Aldo - Brianza - Dawn

The first one to look up was Patrizia, in Rome! She said she missed a rainbow by a handful of seconds, because she had to jump on the bus and couldn't stop to take a picture. I say: don't worry, there will be other rainbows to catch!

Patrizia - Rome, Italy - 8.35 am
In Trieste Benedetta cut through the fog, thinking to herself: "The fog is rising, we will have sun!"

Benedetta - Trieste, Italy - 9.50 am

I went out at about 10.00 and above me the sky was being dramatic!

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 10.00 am
Ilaria and Irene were walking together around Pisa: According to the legend, it was Ilaria who had the idea to take a picture, but her phone didn't work so Irene came to the rescue with hers!

Ilaria & Irene - Pisa, Italy - 10.35 am

Gaia was still on holiday, but today she didn't feel like climbing mountains.

Gaia - Villach, Austria - 11.15

I was back home very early.

Chiara - Berlin, Germany - 1.00 pm

Celenia was walking her dog, Mirto, and managed to take a picture of the sky and of a beautiful tree she has been looking at for days!

Celenia - Empoli, Italy - 1.47 pm
Gabriella drove her son Giacomo to his piano lesson, and while she was waiting for him, she went to the shopping centre nearby. The sun was going down just then.

Gabriella - Lecce, Italy - 4.40 pm

A few minutes later Celenia took a beautiful picture of her sunset.

Celenia - Empoli, Italy - 4.49 pm
And tonight Marisa  went for a brief walk.

Marisa - Riverbella, Mantua, Italy - 8.14 pm

Sharing days and skies with so many people is a wonderful experience! Don't you agree?
